Quilting Through Corona – Week #$%&^%$^

Do you feel like the world is going to Hell too? It was already catastrophic that we’re in the midst of a global pandemic that has claimed more than 100,000 American lives. It was already catastrophic that because of institutionalized racism COVID-19 is disproportionately killing Black and Brown Americans. And even in the midst of all of this, after 400 years of state-sponsored violence, Black Americans are not safe to jog, shop, or even to sit in their own homes. What is happening in this country?

As it has for so many over the past 10 days, the sentence “I can’t breathe” has been reverberating through my mind. My “Fury” quilt has been pushed aside for a new #protest quilt in George Floyd’s memory.

Crazy piecing letters spell out “can’t”
