Wild Quilting Weekend

The weekend before last found me holed up in a lodge with 19 other quilters just miles away from Keepsake Quilting for a few days of sewing and merriment. I hadn’t intended to spend the weekend working on stuff for my daughter, but I found a pattern at Keepsake from McCall’s that I just couldn’t […]

No Foolin’

It’s Spring Cleaning time in my studio!  (I wish that I could say that the same is true of the rest of my house, but c’est la vie!)  So, for the month of April, everything and I do mean EVERYTHING in my Etsy shop is 50% off.  I’m clearing things out to make space for […]

More minis

I worked on the next project in Sally Collins’ Mastering Precision Piecing this week. Tiny 1.5″ churn dash blocks and a total top size of 18″ x 15.5.”

Working Small

This week I started working on some projects from Sally Collins’ “Mastering Precision Piecing.”  Hats off to Sally for teaching me to do this: Here’s the finished 4.75″ square miniature quilt top. Are you as amazed as I am?  I feel like I can piece anything now. Just wait until I do the other projects […]

Inspiration in light on water

Back in the swing

After a few weeks off for a move and some side projects for the holidays, I spent the weekend getting back to the Navajo rug inspired quilt that has been in process for the last year and a half. It’s coming along!

In the Mail

I put a couple of quilts in the mail before the holidays that I wanted to share. Mind you, neither was a Christmas gift; they were just both overdue and finally finished. The first one mailed off was  a baby quilt for the newest Montana member of our family. When I heard that she was […]

My First Quilt

This is my first quilt: I had been quilting for only about 6 months when a cousin of mine announced this project for our grandmother’s 80th birthday and solicited my help.  We divided and conquered; she pieced blocks by machine and I pieced by hand. We laid out the design together by pinning flannel to […]

Artist Strength Training

In addition to giving myself a fresh start with my web presence, I am also trying to breathe new life into my quilting and make it a higher priority.  I recently heard about an online course offered by Jane Dunnewold called “Artist Strength Training” and am in Week 3 of the class.  In Week 2, […]
