Throwback Thursday

There’s this thing on Facebook where you post an old picture for what is called “Throwback Thursday.”  I don’t really think anyone needs to see old pictures of me, but I am adopting the idea to recreate some old posts from my previous blog.  When my life got too far out of hand, I let […]

One more mini

I’ve just finished the top for the third project in Sally Collins‘ Mastering Precision Piecing.  This one finished to about 15″ square and yet again, I have to thank Sally for her incredible instructions.  I have made a lot of Flying Geese over the last 15+ years of quilting and all of them have been […]

Started something new

The success that I had recently with precision piecing thanks to Judy Collins has inspired me to finally start a project that has been in mind for years. I have long wanted to create geometric tiles and have tried a few methods (batik, ink, etc.). I don’t love doing applique so I didn’t want to […]

Wild Quilting Weekend

The weekend before last found me holed up in a lodge with 19 other quilters just miles away from Keepsake Quilting for a few days of sewing and merriment. I hadn’t intended to spend the weekend working on stuff for my daughter, but I found a pattern at Keepsake from McCall’s that I just couldn’t […]

No Foolin’

It’s Spring Cleaning time in my studio!  (I wish that I could say that the same is true of the rest of my house, but c’est la vie!)  So, for the month of April, everything and I do mean EVERYTHING in my Etsy shop is 50% off.  I’m clearing things out to make space for […]

More minis

I worked on the next project in Sally Collins’ Mastering Precision Piecing this week. Tiny 1.5″ churn dash blocks and a total top size of 18″ x 15.5.”

Working Small

This week I started working on some projects from Sally Collins’ “Mastering Precision Piecing.”  Hats off to Sally for teaching me to do this: Here’s the finished 4.75″ square miniature quilt top. Are you as amazed as I am?  I feel like I can piece anything now. Just wait until I do the other projects […]

Inspiration in light on water

We escaped the bitter cold and deep, deep snow of Boston last week for a tropical vacation. (I know, I am still pinching myself.)  Aside from the gorgeous turquoise blue of the water, I was inspired by the play of light on the water.  I see fabric, do you?

Back in the swing

After a few weeks off for a move and some side projects for the holidays, I spent the weekend getting back to the Navajo rug inspired quilt that has been in process for the last year and a half. It’s coming along!

My studio is closed Feb. 16 - Feb. 23 for vacation and I will not be shipping during that time. Any purchases will be in the mail as soon as possible on the 25th. Thanks! Dismiss
