During the week after the mass shooting at the Pulse Night Club in Orlando, Florida in 2016, I began a new series of quilts to memorialize the victims of major mass shooting events. Starting with the shooting at Columbine High School in 1999, I made a quilt with the names of each victim for each shooting event in which more than ten people died. To date, that includes the following: Columbine High School, CO; Virginia Tech, VA; Binghamton, NY; Fort Hood, TX; Aurora, CO; Sandy Hook Elementary, CT; Washington, D.C.; San Bernardino, CA; Orlando, FL; Las Vegas, NV; Sutherland Springs, TX; Parkland, FL; Pittsburgh, PA; Thousand Oaks, CA.  I have also made one quilt, called “Bullet Holes” that includes one hole for each mass shooting victim from 1990 to today.
