This journal quilt was absolutely one of my favorites. I made it during the week of June 16, 2011, inspired by the bounty of summer. We get a weekly delivery of organic, local fruits and vegetables from Berkshire Organics and it’s always a treat to open the box to see what we have. (Of course, there are also the weeks where I think, “What am I going to do with all this rhubarb?!” Seriously, it’s rhubarb time so if you’ve got any suggestions, I’ll take them.) Our delivery the week of June 16th included garlic scapes and strawberries. We didn’t eat them together of course, but they did make for a fun journal quilt.
And, it looks like I’ll have to dig out that quilt and take a photo of it because I don’t seem to have one saved in my files. I do however, have a picture of garlic scapes:
