This is the first exercise in Stage One of the Creativity Journey. Find a comfortable chair and start your journey.
One of the things that I love about traveling is the excitement that builds before the journey begins. Before my bags are packed I imagine what I will do on my trip and how it will feel to sit in a plaza eating gelato. As you prepare to embark on your creativity journey, I encourage you to do the same.
Sit in a comfortable chair and close your eyes. Take several slow, deep breaths. Then imagine that you are standing in front of the door through which you will begin your creativity journey. Is it truly a door? Maybe you see a screen instead or maybe you are faced with a wall and your creativity journey will involve busting through first. Perhaps you feel like you are standing on a precipice instead, about to jump off into a dark abyss. Spend as much time as you need to envision every detail.
Now, imagine yourself walking through the door or jumping off the cliff. Notice the sensations that you perceive as you move through. What emotions do you feel as you commit to your journey? When you are ready, open your eyes and record the experience.
