Stage Eight of the Creativity Journey
Do you feel your inner light growing stronger too? Are you starting to feel superhero-like strength? Eventually after trying different paths and learning more about who you are and what matters to you, you will hit your stride. As you do your creative work you will hear a voice inside you cheering you on. “Yes! This is it!” it will say and you will know without question that you have found your light. You will have found the creative work that is uniquely yours to do, the ideal combination of your experience, skills, interests, and perspective. You will have found the perfect expression of your authentic voice and it will very clearly feel right to you. Your path will be so illuminated that you’ll feel like, all of a sudden, you’ve stepped out of black and white and onto a Technicolor yellow brick road.
If there’s any challenge you face at this stage, it may be a nagging suspicion that things are going too well. You may find that negative voice in your head telling you that it all seems too good to be true. Or, maybe you worry that your creativity isn’t sustainable and that it’s only a matter of time before you revert to your old life. Put your fears aside for now. In future stages, we’ll discuss setting up a regular creative practice to keep your creativity flowing. For now, just enjoy the thrill of discovering your unique form of expression. Revel in the joy of making and just create.
