This image represents new life and beginnings, having been taken in the hospital recovery room where I was celebrating my very first Mother’s Day, after giving birth the day before. I printed this close-up photo of purple hydrangeas onto cotton fabric and then heavily sewed two focal blooms in varying shades of purple threads.
